Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus of the Dresden University of Technology
At the Medical Faculty of the TU Dresden, a total of approx. 2,600 students study medicine, dentistry, public health/health sciences and medical radiation sciences. When the first IMS user training took place on 07.09.2007 after various preliminary works, hardly someone suspected that once a year approx. 100 examinations are accomplished in Dresden by 170 lecturers with the IMS. Star-shaped case templates are as much a distinguishing feature of the examinations as the integrated two-day year-end examination in the 8th semester with a total of approx. 260 exam questions. The clinical examination course uses the IMS-OSCE examinations as well as the joint OSCE exam in general medicine, surgery and internal medicine with 12 stations per student. Last was conducted tablet-based for the first time in 2015. The application of the Re-view procedure, the use of questions from the network, the evaluation of question statistics and documented process sequences are important building blocks for ensuring quality in teaching, which led to a “DIN-EN-ISO-9001:2008-certified quality management for teaching”.
